Caban Group CEO appointed to executive board of Community Development Trust of Khoi-San Royal House

Caban Group CEO, Dave Romero, has been appointed as a Trustee and Member of the Executive Board of N//n#e Community Development Trust at an official ceremony that took place on 7 November in Upington, a town on the banks of the might Orange River in the Northern Cape Province of South Africa. 

 

He was appointed by the Leader of the N//n#e Royal House, #Xuu Katrina, and joins 5 ranking members of the Royal household in this position. One of the primary aims of the Trust is to be an economic driving force in the economy of the Northern Cape. 

 

The Trust has been set up to provide economic empowerment and financial assistance to the Khoi-San people of the different Khoi-San communities in the Upington Districts of South Africa, as well as organizations that have the aim to promote, develop and preserve the culture, tradition and socio-economic development and interest of the Khoi-San people in the Republic of South Africa.

 

The Matriarch, #Xuu Katrina Esau, is recognized as the elected leader who will have the benefit of a percentage agreed by the Executive Board of the income of the Trust. This will be for her personal expenses and household maintenance as befitted for a queen.

 

Further, the Trust will found supplementary trusts whose main purposes and function will be:

 

  • To set-up and provide for a bursary fund for our youth for further education and training at Universities or Technical Institutions;
  • To draft a comprehensive workable programme for the provision of, and the establishment of retirement villas for the elderly pensioners;
  • To establish and maintain safe havens for the terminally ill and HIV/AIDS patients (hospices);
  • To setup a youth and child care centres;
  • To setup a rehabilitation centre for the alcoholics and drugs related problems in the community;
  • To establish a skills and training centre for the development of human capitals
  • To be an economic driving force in the economy of the Northern Cape Provinces
  • To establish and maintain safe havens for alcoholic and drugs abused orphaned and abandoned children, and juvenile delinquents that’s in the already overcrowded prisons for social rehabilitation purposes;
  • Provide safe havens for the abused women and children by establishing rape trauma centres; and
  • To initiate agricultural and mining programmes.

 

The sole or principle object of the trust is to provide financial assistance and economic development to the Khoi-San People, as well as organizations that have as their aim the development of the Khoi-San People and/or the preservation of the Khoi-San Culture. 

 

The full Executive Board is Chief Simon Paul Louw, Cecil Joseph Job, Chief Charles Tieties, Frederick Springbok, Dave Romero and David van Wyk.
